CSEA is one of the most urgent and rapidly evolving threats facing children today. The growth of digital technology, global financial systems, and cross-border networks has expanded both the scale and complexity of harm. Addressing it requires more than awareness - it demands coordinated, cross-sector action.
We work at the intersection of financial crime, technology, law enforcement, policy and corporate responsibility - building capability across the sectors that can meaningfully intervene
Although a small and agile team, ICMEC Australia convenes experts from government, law enforcement, corporate and not-for-profits. Together, we design and deliver practical solutions that strengthen the ability to detect, disrupt and prevent CSEA.
We partner with law enforcement, government agencies, financial services institutions, travel and tourism operators, technology companies, academia, and the broader corporate sector to strengthen frontline responses and close systemic gaps.
Rather than duplicating existing services, we act as a connector and capability builder ensuring the right stakeholders are equipped and aligned to act.
Our services include:
ICMEC Australia was established in late 2021 as the Australian affiliate of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children. We now operate as an independent Australian not-for-profit organisation with its own governance, leadership and strategic direction.
We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) under ABN 86 645 682 828.
Our establishment was supported by Westpac’s Safer Children, Safer Communities initiative, which funded a multi-year program to strengthen Australia’s response to CSEA through financial crime disruption and cross-sector engagement.
As our foundational funding term concludes, ICMEC Australia is entering a new phase - - transitioning from establishment to long-term sustainability.
To maintain and scale our impact, we are seeking strategic partnerships, government grants, corporate investment and philanthropic support. Sustainable funding will enable us to protect our children now and into the future.

ICMEC Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners throughout Australia and their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and Elders past and present.
