Our annual symposium is a one-day in-person event that unites leaders from across the child protection response system to focus on a shared goal: supporting and empowering professionals who detect, disrupt and prevent CSEA. Senior leaders from the public and private sectors present on the latest intelligence, solutions, and strategies across product design, social impact, risk management, financial crime, and more to build capacity across the child protection sector.

Our Corporate Awareness Training helps organisations understand and respond to the risks of child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) within their operations, products, and supply chains. 

Tailored for financial services, technology, travel and other corporate sectors, our sessions provide practical insights, emerging risks, and clear actions to strengthen governance, build internal capability, and raise awareness of CSEA to contribute meaningfully to child safety. 

Law enforcement plays a critical role in protecting children from online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA). As this crime type continues to accelerate and evolve alongside rapid technological advancements, it is essential that frontline responders are equipped to keep pace. ICMEC Australia coordinates and delivers targeted training nationally and internationally, working alongside law enforcement, government, and industry to strengthen capability across the ecosystem. Our programs equip officers - including general duties members and call-takers - with practical tools, current intelligence, and actionable knowledge to identify, prevent, and respond effectively to the evolving nature of CSEA.

The ICMEC Australia Data Product, ‘Lighthouse’, was our first step into uplifting detection of CSEA through data solutions.  

Widespread industry access to timely, relevant, and reliable data is critical for detection and disruption. A key priority of the next phase of ICMEC Australia’s growth is to continue to develop and support industry deployment of data solutions to make this possible. We plan to do this by evolving beyond lighthouse with diverse, sovereign, real-time data streams that identify emerging risks, suspicious activity, and threat actors across digital environments.

We established the SaferAI for Children Coalition, Australia’s first national, cross-sector initiative focused on the intersection of AI and child protection. The Coalition brings together experts from law enforcement, government, not-for-profits, and academia to build shared understanding, shape policy, and drive responsible innovation. 

Through the development of evidence-based white papers, thought leadership and round tables, the Coalition is helping to inform national dialogue and policy settings, while championing the use of AI for good to strengthen child safety outcomes. 

We work closely with government to shape policies that better protect children in an evolving digital world. Through targeted advocacy campaigns, we influence legislative and regulatory reform to drive systemic change in child protection. We provide trusted policy and strategic advice to governments on child safety, digital regulation, and emerging AI-related reform - ensuring that laws, regulatory frameworks, and enforcement approaches keep pace with technology and effectively safeguard children from harm. 

Through partnerships with universities, researchers, and the broader child protection community, we support and undertake research that identifies emerging threats and explores what works in prevention, detection, and response. Whether it's analysing the economic impact of child sexual abuse and exploitation, studying offender behaviours, or supporting the next generation of researchers, our goal is to ensure the sector has access to robust data and insights to inform better policy, practice, and advocacy.
