Need help?

Make a report
We don’t handle reports or investigations but you can get help from several places if you have concerns about someone’s inappropriate behaviour around children online. Please see the following list for reporting information.

If a child is in immediate danger call Triple Zero 000 or your local police

Your local police can be contacted at 131 444, or at your local police station

If you prefer to report in confidence, you can make a report to Crimestoppers or call their toll-free number 1800 333 000

The Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) is led by the Australian Federal Police and brings together Australian Law Enforcement members dedicated to countering online child sexual exploitation. The ACCCE receives reports of inappropriate, harmful or criminal activities that have occurred to children online. To the ACCCE you can report:

  • Suspected online grooming or unwanted contact towards a child
  • An individual having a conversation with a child online and saying and doing inappropriate things or trying to meet in person
  • Live streaming and consuming child sexual abuse material
  • Coercing and blackmailing children for sexual purposes

eSafety is Australia’s government regulator dedicated to online safety. Child sexual abuse material or other offensive and illegal content can be reported to the eSafety Commissioner who will work to remove it. If you suspect someone over the age of 18 years old is being exploited online or you wish to make a report for yourself, a person can make a report to the eSafety Commissioner

Social media and gaming platforms: If something inappropriate happens on a platform, use the reporting mechanism within their app, website or game
